“Why didn't you call me?”
I felt relieved.
“Didn't think to.”
“I was gone the whole evening.”
I know. It felt great.
“I assumed you were our or something.”
“You didn't even text.”
No, I didn't.
“Didn't think to.”
“The hospital should have called you.”
They did.
“They didn't.”
“They told me they did.”
Yes, they did.
“Maybe the call failed.”
“They said they spoke to someone.”
They spoke to me.
They told me what happened.
I nearly left the house to come to you. But then I didn't.
“I don't know what you want me to say. I didn't speak to anyone.” “Are you lying?” Yes.
“No.”
“Were you scared?”
Never.
“When?”
“When you found out I was in hospital.”
I hoped you were dead.
“I figured you were alright.”
“Do you love me?”
No.
“Yes.”
“Alright.”
I watched a movie after the hospital called me. They told me you were in critical condition and I just watched a movie.
“How long before you're out?”
“They want to keep me in the ward for a few days.”
Thank God.
“I'll cook you something up for when you get back.”
“Will you make my favourite?”
Of course I will.
“Of course I will.”
“I love you.”
I hate you.
“I love you too.”
